Does Encryption Matter If Your AI Is US-Hosted?

Encryption at rest doesn't protect against CLOUD Act compelled disclosure. Data must be decrypted for inference. Only jurisdiction matters for compliance.

Encryption protects data in transit and at rest, but not from government compelled disclosure. The CLOUD Act's broad scope under 18 U.S.C. § 2713 potentially compromises privileged information.
