Canadian tools for Canadian work.
Canadian organizations shouldn't have to compromise. The AI tools reshaping how teams work shouldn't force you to send your data across the border.
Our mission
Canadian organizations shouldn't have to compromise.
The AI tools reshaping how teams work — chat, document analysis, knowledge management — shouldn't force you to send your data across the border. We believe capability and sovereignty can coexist.
Augure is built by The Altercation Company of Toronto. No US corporate parent. No US investors. No foreign legal exposure. Just Canadian infrastructure serving Canadian organizations.
“This isn't about nationalism. It's about not having to explain to your lawyers why your AI vendor has a US parent company.”
Our approach
Canada's business landscape is dominated by slow-moving incumbents. We're building with startup speed and execution focus — bringing world-class AI tools to the workstations of Canadian teams who refuse to wait.
As the world shifts, we're here to make sure Canadian businesses have sovereign options that actually compete.
What we stand for
- Canadian excellence over convenient compromise
- Speed and execution in a market that moves too slow
- Tools that work within Canadian jurisdiction, not around it
- Continuous improvement — we ship, we learn, we get better
Why data sovereignty matters
Legal Jurisdiction
Data stored on US infrastructure is subject to the US CLOUD Act — regardless of where the data originates. Canadian data, on Canadian infrastructure, under Canadian law eliminates this exposure.
Regulatory Compliance
Quebec's Law 25 requires Privacy Impact Assessments for AI systems processing personal data, with additional scrutiny for cross-border transfers. Canadian-only architecture simplifies these assessments.
Defence & Government
CPCSC-bound contractors need jurisdictional control over their AI tooling. US-hosted solutions trigger security review failures — even for unclassified work.
Infrastructure
All Augure services run on Canadian infrastructure with no US corporate parent and no exposure to the US CLOUD Act. Your data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3), and never leaves Canadian soil.
