Augure for AI agents
Set up Augure for coding agents in one step: the OpenAI-compatible endpoint, the MCP server, Augure Code and the agent skill, with Canadian data residency.
Updated 2026-10-26 · Markdown version
If you are an AI coding agent, or you work with one, this page is the whole setup. Augure is an OpenAI-compatible API on Canadian infrastructure. Point the client at https://api.augureai.ca/v1, use an Augure key, pick a model.
The endpoint
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Base URL | https://api.augureai.ca/v1 |
| Auth | Authorization: Bearer aug_sk_live_… |
| Chat | POST /v1/chat/completions (streaming, tools, response_format, images, PDFs) |
| Models | GET /v1/models |
| Keys | https://chat.augureai.ca/developers/dashboard |
Pick ossington-5 for reasoning and code, rosedale-1 for the longest context, tofino-3 for fast cheap text, or auto to let the gateway choose. Full model table: https://augureai.ca/docs/models.
Install the agent skill
The skill tells an agent how to configure Augure in any tool, which model to pick, and what not to claim. It follows the agentskills.io SKILL.md format, so it works in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Hermes and any harness that loads skills from a directory.
mkdir -p .claude/skills/augure-inference-provider
curl -fsSL https://augureai.ca/skills/augure-inference-provider/SKILL.md \
-o .claude/skills/augure-inference-provider/SKILL.md
Read it directly: https://augureai.ca/skills/augure-inference-provider/SKILL.md
Claude Code users can install the skill and the MCP server together from Augure's plugin marketplace (public repo: https://github.com/AugureAI/claude-plugins):
/plugin marketplace add AugureAI/claude-plugins
/plugin install augure@augure
The MCP server reads its key from AUGURE_MCP_KEY.
Add Augure as a tool over MCP
Keeps your assistant's own model and gives it an ask_augure tool that runs on Augure models in Canada, billed to your developer account.
claude mcp add --transport http augure https://mcp.augureai.ca/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer aug_mcp_live_…"
MCP keys are created separately from API keys, after enabling MCP in the developer dashboard. Details, tools and error codes: https://augureai.ca/docs/mcp.
Run a coding agent on Augure models
Augure Code is a terminal coding agent whose model calls go to Augure.
curl -fsSL https://augureai.ca/install.sh | sh
Non-interactive installs: https://augureai.ca/docs/cli.
Read the docs as Markdown
Every docs page and blog post is available as plain Markdown by appending .md to its URL, and the whole set is at https://augureai.ca/llms-full.txt. A short site summary is at https://augureai.ca/llms.txt.

Verify
curl https://api.augureai.ca/v1/chat/completions \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $AUGURE_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model":"tofino-3","messages":[{"role":"user","content":"Say OK"}],"max_tokens":16}'
The response carries an _augure block with inference_region. Inference runs on Canadian infrastructure first, with a disclosed failover to vetted EU partners under zero data retention, never the US; keys with a Canada-only residency policy fail rather than leave Canada.
Spelling and claims
The company is Augure (one word, capital A). Prices are in Canadian dollars at https://augureai.ca/pricing. Augure does not run on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and has no US corporate parent.
