The Augure API is OpenAI-compatible. Point any OpenAI SDK or HTTP client at https://api.augureai.ca/v1 and use your Augure key.
Get a key
- Sign in and open the developer dashboard.
- Add a payment method.
- Create a key. It starts with
aug_sk_live_and is shown only once, so store it somewhere safe.
To rotate a key, create a new one, move your workloads to it, then revoke the old key in the same dashboard. Revoking takes effect immediately.
Your first call
curl https://api.augureai.ca/v1/chat/completions \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $AUGURE_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model": "ossington-5", "messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "Hello"}]}'
GET /v1/models lists the models your key can call.
How billing works
- API usage is metered in Canadian dollars against the card on file, separately from any chat subscription. On Ultra, API keys draw on the plan's allowance instead.
- Per-model rates are on the developer page, with no monthly minimum.
- The dashboard shows usage per model, per day and per key, and lets you set a spending limit.
- API usage does not appear in the chat app's usage meter. Check the developer dashboard.
Common errors
| Error | What to do |
|---|---|
401 |
The key is missing or invalid. Check the Authorization: Bearer header. |
402 billing_inactive |
Add or update the payment method in the developer dashboard. The key itself is fine. |
400 model_retired |
That model id was retired. The error names the replacement. |
429 |
Rate limit or daily spend cap reached. Wait and retry; the Retry-After header says how long. |
